The Work We Do
When we’ve been hurt in relationships or by experiences, we often carry not only the pain of what happened but also confusion or shame about how we learned to cope. It can feel like the ways you protect yourself are the problem, even though they made perfect sense at the time. In our work together, we will slow things down, gently explore those patterns, and understand how they were shaped. From there, we can build new ways of relating that help you feel steadier, more connected, and more in charge of your life.
What to expect from Individual Therapy
Individual therapy involves meeting once a week for a 45-minute session. Together, we’ll explore what you want to feel more of in your life and build our work around what you’re hoping to grow, change, or strengthen. Sometimes we explore long-standing patterns that keep showing up, and other times we focus on what’s happening in your life right now that needs care or clarity.
What does Trauma-Informed mean?
Being trauma-informed means shifting from the question “What’s wrong with you?” to “What have you been through, and how has it shaped you?” It recognizes that reactions, patterns, and coping strategies come from lived experiences, not personal flaws.
This approach looks at your whole story, including your culture, identity, and strengths. It helps you understand yourself with compassion instead of judgment, creating a foundation for real healing.
